(WPRI) - Even though it is necessary to buy textbooks for college, there are ways to cut costs before you arrive on campus.
According to College Board, the average collegiate spent almost $1,200 on books during the last academic year. On top of tuition, fees, and housing, a thousand dollars on books is the last thing a struggling student wants to worry about.
Now, finding cheaper used books has become easier through websites geared toward the re-sale and exchange of textbooks.
In addition, one tipster suggests looking into international editions. Meant for other regions, the books still offer the same content, but at a price almost 70% lower.
Students should also ask their peers for older books and check with their institute's library for borrowing options.
