East Providence, R.I. (WPRI) - If you haven't taken advantage of President's Day sales, you still have time, but not all deals are created equal.

Presidents Day sales usually are loaded with the best bargains, as retailer try to get rid of winter inventory to introduce spring stock.

But the most likely place for bargain hunting isn't where you might think.

This year with car inventory much lower than in years past, car deals may not be driving sales on Presidents Day.

According to Edmunds.com with excess inventory the savings on cars today is around 15% for 2011 models and 11% for 2012 models.

If you're looking for furniture now is the time to pounce, with deals of up to 50-percent out there.

Most furniture stores change their inventory over twice a year, usually right before spring and again after August.

And don't forget to ask about showroom stock.

It's usually in good shape and can save you hundreds of dollars.

Another big bargain is on jewelry.

Valentine's Day leftovers can be discounted at up to 70-percent savings.

Also, check out swimwear.

The first batch that came out right before the holidays for the winter vacation season is now discounted between 25-percent and 30-percent.
