EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Three big product recalls may affect you if you have young children in your home.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is warning parents that 119,000 Care Bears pacifiers are being recalled because they fail to meet federal safety standards. According to the CPSC, the nipple can separate from the base of the pacifier, potentially becoming a choking hazard. So far there have not been any reports of injuries but federal officials say you should immediately return them for a full refund.
About 4 million baby seats are also being recalled. The seats, manufactured by Bumbo, fail to adequately restrain babies - there have been 50 incidents reported since 2007 of babies wiggling their way out of the seat and falling. 19 of those cases resulted in head injuries. Consumers should stop using the seats until they order and install a free repair kit from Bumbo, which includes a new restraining belt.
Finally, Energizer is recalling 260,000 rotating night lights that were sold at Target because of a potential burn hazard. The lights can overheat and smoke, and the company recieved 9 reports of the lights overheating, 3 of which resulted in minor damage to property. The company is offering a $7 coupon upon returning the lights.
