NORFOLK, Mass. (WPRI) - Searchers have found the body of the Plainville, Massachusetts teenager who disappeared Friday night after a party in the woods.
The body of Taylor Meyer, 17, was found in a marshy area near the grounds of the former Norfolk Airport Monday morning, according to investigators.
Meyer, a senior at King Philip Regional High School, went missing Friday night after attending an underage drinking party with friends. She was not reported missing until Saturday afternoon because of confusion between family and friends over her whereabouts.
A massive search party, consisting of ground crews, boats, dogs and a State Police helicopter, launched Saturday night and continued scouring the area throughout the weekend.
Norfolk County District Attorney William Keating said there were no obvious signs of trauma, and the cause of death remains under investigation.
In light of Meyer's death, her
school is providing counseling to students. Authorities expect to an
autopsy sometime on Wednesday.
