Beware of companies offering to repair your bad credit by offering payment plans for products.
These companies claim to offer you solutions to your financial hardship. But one Rehoboth woman who took the bait, says she ended up losing more money.
Donna Weeden is a hardworking mom-on a tight budget like the rest of us. She wanted to buy a new computer, but couldn't afford it. Then in October she heard about a company called CEC solutions.
The program works like this. You buy a computer from them. You're put on a payment plan, in Donna's case she paid $58.97 bi-weekly. The company automatically withdraws the money from your account
And after a few months of paying with no problems, the company sends you the computer nd you continue paying the remaining amount.
So Donna signed up, CEC solutions started making withdrawls and on January 16th, the promised delivery date the computer didn't show up. Two more failed delivery dates later, Donna told the company she was done.
They refused to cancel her order and give her her money back. That's when Donna called 12 for action.
The Better Business Bureau gives the company an "F" the worst grade. The BBB received 177 complaints in the last 12 months, 93 complaints for delivery problems.
