BARNSTABLE, Mass. (AP/WPRI) - Cape Cod Community College has confirmed that a student has the H1N1 flu strain .

Spokesman Michael Gross said Sunday that the student was being treated off campus, and has not been back in class. The school was notified of the student's condition Friday.

He said a free flu shot vaccination clinic would be offered for students and staff at the college Monday.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend getting vaccinated seasonally and against the H1N1 strain, which is also known as swine flu.

In Rhode Island, health officials say there have been cases of H1N1 reported, but that it's not an unusually high number.

Although, the Ocean State has seen an increased number of 'Influenza A' strains in the state.
