    My name is Anaridis Rodriguez and I am a 23 year old proud graduate of Rhode Island College. I am of Dominican/Spanish decent and I did not come to this country until the age of twelve.

    As a young immigrant girl I spoke little English and some of my very first memories were learning how to say my name in a new language.  As an exercise in building my vocabulary I would practice reciting contemporary pop songs such as George Michaels', "Careless Whisper".

    After several years of tutoring and hard work I reached a milestone in the development of my communication skills when I was promoted to the advanced placement English program at Classical High School in Providence.  My passion for the field of communications draws it roots from my early beginning and has gained strength as I continued to develop my ability to communicate with others through various mediums.
