(WPRI) - A lot of artists are dropping new albums in the near future, and one rapper is making headlines for multiple reasons.

Hot 106 morning host Deanna Cruz joins The Rhode Show for the latest news in the world of music.

Today is a big day for new music releases, we're seeing some from longtime favorites as well as newer artists.

Nicki Minaj's highly-anticipated new album "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" comes out today, as well as "Changed" from country superstars Rascal Flatts.

"I'm eager to see who's going to be number one next week," said Cruz.

Aside from her new album, Nicki Minaj is also gracing the headlines due to her wardrobe malfunction while performing on "American Idol".

On top of that, makes a bold move by calling Nicki Minaj the "Most Influential Rapper of All Time".

Local celebrity DJ Pauly D has a new show, and by the end of this year will be the highest paid DJ in the country.

"He can't go wrong. We're in Pauly D land right now," said Cruz.
