MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WPRI) - One local animal shelter says they are flooded with pets.
The director of the Potter League for Animals, Patricia Heller says they have an unusually large number of animals in its shelter.
The animal population that had reached 156 on Friday. Shelter officials say that this is normally a busy time of year for the shelter because of changes in family schedules and children going back to school.
All animals at the shelter are spayed or neutered and are up to date with all shots.
Anyone wishing to adopt a pet is invited to come to the Potter shelter located at 87 Oliphant Lane in Middletown. For more information call 846-0592.
