RI waiter: Kevin Spacey got me fired

(WPRI/WNAC) - It looks like a Newport, Rhode Island restaurant had a run-in with actor Kevin Spacey, causing an employee to get fired!

Waiter, Peter Turner, says it happened when he told Spacey he wasn't allowed to smoke in the restaurant. Turner told Radaronline.com that the actor and some friends visited The Clarke Cooke House in Newport back in June.

He says he tried to joke with the group, saying "You're not allowed to smoke in here unless you're on fire."

But, Spacey apparently exploded, saying, "I need you to get the [expletive] away from my table."

Turner said he told his boss what happened. And the boss responded by saying, "If the owner knew that you pissed off Kevin Spacey, he'd have me fire you."

Three days later Turner said he was laid off "via telephone."
