WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) - The Rhode Island Blood Center is asking the public for help restoring its supply.
It lost nearly 600 donations because of the Blizzard of 2013 - between power outages and cancelled drives.
All blood used by the hospitals in Rhode Island is supplied by the Rhode Island Blood Center, and each day the Blood Center must collect some 280 pints of blood to meet patients' needs.
There's a blood drive being held Thursday, February 21 at the Warwick Mall from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m.
WPRI 12 is one of the proud sponsors of the event, along with LiteRock 105, Hot 106, WPRO 630 and the Warwick Beacon.
