News Operations Manager

(WPRI) - Candidate must have a technical background in electronics and mechanics. Must have ability to diagnose and repair electronics, plus knowledge of ENG and SNG vehicles as well as AVID newsroom operating and editing systems. Candidate must also have budgetary experience. Proper licensing is required. Working with the Engineering Department to oversee all news technical operations and maintain live trucks and tape machines; working with multi-media journalists to ensure they have the proper equipment, and that it is in working order; working with Assignment Desk and Producers to coordinate all live shots and coordinate news feeds; working with News Director to create and manage equipment budget, order and purchase equipment and address personnel issues; and work with Chief Photographer to supervise scheduling and supervise training.
