PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- R.J. Reynolds Vapor Company is voluntarily recalling all Vuse Vibe power units due to a fire risk.
According to the Consumer Product and Safety Commission (CPSC), the company received several complaints about malfunctioning batteries, which could cause the power unit to overheat and catch fire.
CPSC said the company has received 10 complaints related to the power units, and no injuries have been reported.
The company is recalling more than 2.6 million power units that have been sold nationwide. R.J. Reynolds is investigating the cause of the incidents.
Consumers who have purchased the product should stop using it and charging it. The company said consumers can call 1-800-369-8200 or visit their website for information on how to return the power units for a refund.
R.J. Reynolds said the Vuse Solo and Vuse Ciro products, which use different battery components, are not included in this recall.
